I noticed a few things after studying Wheeler's swings...
First, when he strides forward he immediately begins dropping the barrel of the bat (frame 2 & 3 below)
In the third picture below, you can see that at the point in time the heel of his stride foot hits the ground, he's dropped his barrel to be parallel with the ground.
In the fourth frame, his back elbow is driving the swing and is now ahead of the butt cap of the handle (bat drag)
In the final frame.
Wheelr actually catches up nicely and gets in a good position for contact (back elbow only slightly forward of his back hip, and back arm at 90 degrees):
Recipe for succes for Wheeler:
1) Dry swings for stride and load
2) Babe Ruth drill
3) Noodle + high tee drill
4) Verbal cue, keep your elbow behind you
Wheeler's going to be crushing it in no time!
