As Jackson's stride foot moves forward, his head stays in almost the exact same spot - ideally we'd see about 6 inches of forward movement. As his stride foot moves forward, his hands move back (which is good) but his bat barrel also moves further away from his shoulder (not ideal). Also notice, he has no upper body coil from start, through load.
Next, after he's completed his stride, he's beginning his swing and powering it with his back elbow (just a little bit of bat drag). See how his right elbow is creeping under his locked out left arm:
Next, due to that back elbow moving forward, and the bat being so far from his shoulder, he can't support the weight of the barrel and dumps it:
Due to this, he gets under the ball on this swing and misses...notice again his back elbow is well in front of his back hip:
There are lots of good drills we can do to work on these issues, including:
1) One arm swings
2) Super high tee drill
3) Babe Ruth drill
Jackson's going to be CRUSHING it in no time!
