Campbell's stride toward the ball is great! He steps directly towards the pitch and opens his front foot close to 45 degrees, which is ideal. He really uses his hips well and is using them to power his swing!
The first opportunity we have to help Campbell improve his swing his to help him learn to keep his bat up and back as he strides forward. Ideally when his front heel hits the ground, his bat would still be vertical (at 45 degrees). As a hitter strides forward, his upper body should still be coiling:
Instead, Campbell is lower his hands and flattening the barrel of the bat as he strides forward. When his stride foot hits the ground, Campbell's bat is almost parallel to the ground:
Campbell gets really close to having a great impact position in this swing (back arm bent at 90 degrees):
Recipe for success for Campbell:
1) Dry swings to work on stride and load
2) Noodle drill to work on connection
3) Broomstick drill for tilt
Good luck, Campbell!
